We're a Vietnamese Baptist church family in West Houston — first-generation immigrants, second-generation kids, friends, neighbors, and seekers, gathering in two languages around one Savior.
Our Story
From a small gathering
to a church family.
West Houston Vietnamese Baptist Church (WHVBC) began as a community of Vietnamese families who wanted a home where they could worship, pray, and raise their kids in the gospel — in the language of their hearts.
Decades later, that gathering has grown into a multigenerational family. Today, parents still worship in Vietnamese while their children and grandchildren worship in English next door. It's the same church, the same Savior, two languages, one family across generations.
Our mission is simple: to guide people from all backgrounds into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

These are the historic Christian beliefs that have shaped our church and that we continue to teach today.

Scripture
We believe the Bible is God's inspired Word — true, trustworthy, and our final authority for faith and life.

God
We believe in one God eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Jesus
We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man — who lived, died for our sins, rose again, and is coming back.

Salvation
We believe salvation comes by grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone — never earned, always given.

The Church
We believe the church is the body of Christ — a family of believers gathering to worship, grow, and love one another.

Mission
We believe every follower of Jesus is called to share the hope of the gospel with their neighbors, families, and the world.
Leadership
Pastors who shepherd.
Our pastors and ministry leaders serve in two languages and across generations. They preach, pray, teach, counsel, and walk with people through every season of life.
